Cereal with milk or natural yoghurt

Eating breakfast will not only kick-start your body in the morning, but will help you throughout the day.

Here are four useful facts, tips and simple do’s and don’ts when it comes to cereal:

1) Ideally use Wholegrain cereal

2) Do: add some chopped banana or red fruit (strawberries, raspberries and pieces of apple) instead of sugar. All those extra vitamins will help to wake the body up.

3) Don’t: add extra sugar to cereal as not only is too much bad for teeth but can also affect concentration and mood in children by making them over-energetic.

4) Occasionally try putting natural yogurt on cereal instead of milk. It’s fantastic for keeping your gut strong and healthy. It also contains good bacteria, that help to protect your body from nasty, horrible germs!

SamThe best part about making treats using sugar is of course eating them afterwards, but please remember to eat sugary foods as part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle and to take good care of your teeth with the help of your dentist. You might want to try one of these as a sugar alternative. All cooking should be done under adult supervision.

Happy cooking!
